Maruti Fronx SUV Coupe Receives New But Recognisable Styling
The Fronx, Maruti’s first compact SUV coupe for the Nexa chain, is based on the Baleno, which means the Heartect monocoque platform also serves as its foundation. The Fronx receives a more upright nose and a split headlamp configuration similar to the Grand Vitara, aside from a few exterior body panels.
The new front and rear bumpers are larger and feature dedicated faux skid plates and a light coating of chrome at each end. It comes with new, 17-inch alloy wheels that are exclusive to the Fronx and do not appear on any other Maruti model.
The Fronx also borrows design cues from the Baleno hatchback, including a prominent hunch over the rear wheels and a rising waistline. The roofline also prominently dips towards the tailgate. The Fronx is comparable to the Baleno in terms of size at 3,995mm long, 1,550mm high, and 1,765mm wide.

The Fronx and Baleno share a lot of interior components, including the dashboard, seating, and equipment list, which are all expected to be identical on the premium Maruti hatchback. However, there will be variations in both models’ textures and tones, among other things.
In The Maruti Fronx SUV Coupe, The Boosterjet Gasoline Engine Returns
The 1.0-liter Boosterjet, the first and only turbo-petrol engine produced by Maruti Suzuki, made its debut in the previous-generation Baleno in India in 2017. The engine was only offered in the top-spec Baleno RS and was positioned as a sportier alternative to the standard engine lineup. However, Maruti Suzuki was forced to stop producing the engine because of poor sales and more stringent emission standards.
But the turbo engine is back with the Fronx, producing 100 horsepower and 147.6 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to either a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with paddle shifters or a five-speed manual gearbox.

Additionally, Maruti offers a 1.2-liter K-series engine with 90 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque that can be mated to either an AMT automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. The Fronx does not, however, offer AWD technology, in contrast to the Grand Vitara.
Launch Information for The Maruti Fronx SUV Coupe
The Fronx, which will go on sale in April, will be marketed as a high-end small SUV. It will be sold through the Nexa outlets, just like the Baleno. The Citroen C3, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger are just a few examples of the high-riding hatchbacks and small SUVs it will compete against after its launch.
